Vegetable Glucosamine sulphate: is an amino monosaccharide and synthesized from glucose by the cells forming the cartilaginous tissue (chondrocytes). It represents a structural unit of cartilage connective tissue constituents (glycosaminoglycans), having major functions of support and protection.
Chondroitin sulphate: is a polysaccharide and the most abundant glycosaminoglycan (GAG) found in the cartilages. Due to its hydrophilic nature, GAG tends to bind water easily, creating swollen hydrated molecules that give special cushioning characteristics to the cartilage tissue: following constant compression, they rapidly change volume, thus transferring water molecules to the tissues and contributing to lubrication.
Caper: is a Mediterranean shrub and its use dates back to ancient medicine. Its fruits (capers) are rich in vitamins, minerals and phenol compounds, including the flavonoid Quercetin and the flavonol Kaempferol, which are responsible for their biological properties.
MSM: Methylsulfonylmethane is a natural source of organic Sulphur in a biologically active form. After Calcium and Phosphorus, Sulphur constitutes the third mineral quantity present in the body. Almost half of Sulphur is contained in muscle tissues, skin and bones.
Vitamin C: ascorbic acid helps protect cells against oxidative stress and contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the regular functioning of cartilage. Collagen is one of the structural proteins of the cartilage matrix and, together with proteoglycans (aggregates of GAGs and proteins), is fundamental for the maintenance of its physiological function.
